WYONG HOSPITAL AND CARPARK UPGRADE
4th Jul 2018

Patients, families and visitors will benefit from the construction of new car parking infrastructure at Wyong Hospital in addition to the $200 million Wyong Hospital redevelopment.

In the 2018/19 NSW State Budget, the Wyong Hospital redevelopment was allocated $23.5 million and the new carpark $6.5 million.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC said the NSW Liberal National Government continues to deliver on its election commitment for an upgrade of the Wyong Hospital.

“The Minister for Health Brad Hazzard is ensuring that this Government is continuing to future-proof health services for this growing region. With the $348 million Gosford Hospital rebuild, the NSW Liberal National Government is spending over $500 million in Health infrastructure on the Central Coast,” Mr MacDonald said.

Construction of the carpark began in January 2018 with completion of the first stage expected by the end of 2018.  The car park upgrade will deliver an additional 320 additional parking bays, bringing the total car spaces to 500, helping to improve future access to the Hospital for the growing community.

Colliers International have been appointed as Project Manager and HDR appointed as the Architect for the carpark.

By 2026, the Wyong region’s population is expected to grow to 188,040 people.

The $200 million Wyong Hospital redevelopment will include:

  • New emergency department
  • New intensive care unit
  • New paediatric assessment unit
  • Additional inpatient units
  • Expanded surgical services, including additional operating theatre capacity
  • Increased maternity services.
